As hospitals and healthcare providers across the Finger Lakes continue to face critical workforce shortages, Keuka College and Finger Lakes Health have formed a new partnership designed to expand educational opportunities, strengthen career pathways, and help prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals to serve the region.
The collaboration creates new opportunities for employees of Finger Lakes Health to pursue educational and professional development through Keuka College while advancing their careers. At the same time, Keuka College students will benefit from expanded clinical placements throughout the health system, gaining valuable hands-on experience in hospitals and medical practices that serve rural communities.
“This initiative represents a true win-win for everyone involved,” said Dr. Jose Acevedo, President & CEO of University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health and President, Finger Lakes Health College of Nursing. “By strengthening educational pathways and expanding hands-on learning opportunities, we are helping build a strong pipeline of future healthcare professionals who are prepared to serve our region. Most importantly, our communities benefit through increased access to high-quality care and a more sustainable healthcare workforce.”
Keuka College President Amy Storey said the partnership reflects the College’s commitment to addressing one of the area’s most pressing challenges.

Finger Lakes Health operates regional facilities, including Geneva General Hospital and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, and employs approximately 1,500 people.
